Madrock Cafe & Crafts, located on 723 Water St in Bay Roberts, NL, is a hidden gem that consistently earns rave reviews. Customers are drawn to its quaint atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious offerings that highlight local flavors. Patrons like Angie White cherish the warmth of this spot, noting that every visit is worth the journey. The standout dish here appears to be the Touton, a fried bread that customers, including Kevin Pope and Quinton Pryce, can't stop praising. Quinton’s experience during his honeymoon highlights the exceptional gluten-free fish cakes, marking them as a must-try. The menu is simple yet compelling, featuring items like the classic BLT and creative specials like the War Sandwich, which showcases the café’s unique twist on traditional fare. Adele Rosenbloom echoes the sentiment of excellent value, relishing her late lunch selection of baked beans and fish cakes. Her comment on the Touton is particularly striking; it’s so well-executed that it rivals homemade versions. With delightful staff like Monica, who brighten up gloomy days, Madrock Cafe & Crafts seems to deliver a slice of home comfort in every dish. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this café is undoubtedly a worthwhile stop for those seeking hearty, home-cooked meals.

Such good food, service and character in this quaint spot. It's a little out of the way but worth the trip, every time. One of my favorites for sure.

A genuinely rare, interesting and colourful place. Our waitress, Monica, was great and such a ray of sunshine on a gloomy day. She recommended the War Sandwich, made with fried Touton bread. It was delicious!

My wife & I stayed in the area for a few days on our honeymoon & this was absolutely the highlight. Their gluten-free fish cakes were a highlight for me (best I ever had) & the toutons were my wife's. Cheers to Dawn, Kim & Kim for making such a warm environment & having a great chat with us.

My friend and I stopped in for a late lunch. We were delighted with the wonderful staff and the whimsical atmosphere. My friend had the breakfast special and loved it. I had baked beans, a fish cake and a touton with butter and molasses. All of the food was super delicious. The touton was the best one ever aside my own! Definitely a great little spot. Excellent value for your money. Make sure to check out the beach at Mad Rocks. Superb!

Found this gem on Google and had to try! The staff were terrific and engaging. The food was yummy! Cinnamon toutons were delicious! Like going to Mom's for a home cooked meal! I'm glad we found them! Check it out! It's worth the drive!

Not too sure exactly where to start with this one, so I'll start with an enormous THANK YOU!! We spent the past 2 weeks at my in-laws house just up the road a bit and visited the cafe a total of 5 times, or was it 6? Anyway, never have I felt more welcome, at home or comfortable at a place I had never visited before. The staff here are absolutely phenomenal, the food is some of the best I've ever had and the atmosphere is so damn cozy. We've only been back home in Alberta for 2 days and I truly miss the cafe, it is a very special place and I am counting down the days to our next visit! Again, thank you all so very much. I want a hug next time Kim, Derrick shouldn't be the only lucky one! Stacey Renner Santa's son-in-law

The Madrock Cafe is a must stop for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner (they close at 5 pm). The food is incredible (best touton in Newfoundland!) and Kim and the staff make you feel like you’re sitting in your new friend’s kitchen. I had the cafe special (2 fish cakes, baked beans and touton) for a late lunch before doing the beautiful hike that starts just across the road. Lunch was so good I came in the following morning and had it for breakfast too!

My wife and I visited Madrock Cafe for the first time. It is a bit of a drive to get there, but very much worth the trip. The atmosphere there is really homey. We were welcomed warmly and served promptly. Everyone there was in bay fashion very friendly. The restaurant is accessible. The food was great. Best touton I had in a long time. The baked beans were almost as good as my own . Fish cakes were huge and delicious. Loved their touton. My wife had the western sandwich. She really enjoyed it. Overall a experience. The lady who served us recommended a drive just a little further to see an amazing view. Was not disappointed. Highly recommend the trip to this restaurant.
